Meet Vivo.
Vivo is a small agency. But our aspirations are big. We deal exclusively with clients in complex, technical markets (most of them from the non-pharmaceutical medical field). Because of our size, everyone at Vivo wears many hats. We’re looking for an Art Director who is hands on and able to manage a job from start to finish. You must be able to:
· Develop core concepts that are executable across channels (interactive, print, direct mail, collateral)
· Design print ads, direct mail, brochures, logos, landing pages, microsites and banner ads
· Work in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and have some Flash experience
· Adhere to tight deadlines
· Go with the flow (flexibility is key)
Being able to joke around is also important. We’re not overly sensitive. We like to laugh at ourselves (and each other). And we enjoy coming to work.

Summer Intern

Hey VC students,
Ellee Durels here, class of 2003. We are looking for a summer intern at The Knot Inc (Theknotinc.com).
We have three major brands, The Knot, The Nest and The Bump. Each has many different media outlets including: magazines, websites, and video. The Knot is our flagship wedding brand, The Nest is dedicated to newlyweds and all things home, and finally The Bump is our pregnancy and baby brand.
Specifically, our team supports National and Local sales but we are also the “brand police” for the company. We do everything from creating national campaigns and pitching new advertisers to making sure all of our office signage is on brand. As an intern, you would work on projects for all brands in both web and print.
The bad news is we only pay $25 a day travel stipend to interns. We would need someone Monday through Wednesday. Start and end date would be flexible.
Our office is located in SOHO — which is a pretty amazing hood to work in.
Also, if you are a graduating senior, and we like your work it could possibly lead to some paid freelance work.
Danielle Pacheco (07′) started as our intern and is now a designer.

CREATIVE ASSIGNMENT: The Lean Forward Media Project 2.0 ‘Video Meets Baby Boomers’ is all about understanding people age 50+ and their interaction with digital media and technology. We want you to let us know what people in that age group are really doing, or not doing, with digital media across different channels and devices.
How are they communicating, shopping, working or enjoying entertainment? How about finding information and conducting daily life activities? Let us know how they interact with different digital mediums and channels, or compare with traditional forms of non-digital media and technology.
We need you to show us something insightful and compelling, and provide true qualitative learning. It is recommended that you point out at least 5 specific qualitative learnings and convey them clearly in your video presentation.
For reference, you may refer to Lean Forward Media Project 1.0 ‘What’s Clicking with Kids’ focused on youth and their interactions with digital media and technology. Watch the LFMP 1.0 video clips. Through first person interviews with kids, we were able to glean various insights about them beyond the standard statistics. From the diversity of kids and their age group’s micro segments, to their preference to communicate passively over digital means, as well as their dependence on mobile devices and attitudes towards digital advertising, we really gained some valuable insight.
You have the opportunity to make it as one of three Finalists to win prizes. If you are selected as the first place winner, you will receive $10,000 and the opportunity to present your video piece at an upcoming conference. Two second place winners will each receive $5,000.

Kirk Souder

Go check out the Connections Page. It has been update with some people, including the legendary Kirk Souder, VC 1985. Kirk gave a talk here last year that I still am inspired by. He has worked on some huge projects, including recently the movie “ART and COPY”, which you should all go see. To think he came from the same program we are in… ‘
